About
Prior to 3rd July 2006, universities could charge students a compulsory student services fee in return for which students have received a bundle of services and/or discounts. With the introduction of the Commonwealth Government’s Higher Education Support Amendment (Abolition of Compulsory Upfront Student Union Fees) Act 2005 universities can no longer charge a compulsory student services fee to students.
On the 3rd July 2006, Flinders Campus Community Services, Inc. (FCCS) or Flinders One was formed and is the result of an amalgamation of the six former student organisations - the Flinders University Union, the Sports Association, Post Graduates Students’ Association (PGSA), Clubs and Societies Association, Flinders International Students’ Association (FISA) and the Students’ Association of Flinders University (SAFU).
Under the FCCS constitution and the Membership and the Associations Incorporations Act 1985, the Flinders University is the sole member.
