Information is available from Student Assist about:

  • the University's assessment policies
  • how to apply for a supplementary exam
  • how to request a re-mark or appeal against a final mark or preclusion
  • 'show cause' letter
  • advocacy on issues regarding academic integrity & dishonesty breaches
  • plagiarism, collusion, falsification, misconduct & double submission of work
  • passing or improving a grade
  • review of student progress (GPA) 

Financial Assistance

For many students, starting university also means new financial independence. Budgeting and keeping track of living expenses can be hard. Student Assist understands this and Student Assist has trained staff to help you get through the tough times and start enjoying the Flinders Uni lifestyle again.

We offer general information and assistance with:

Centrelink Assistance

Make sure you’re getting the right Centrelink entitlements. Student Assist can help guide you in the right direction and advise on the types of Government assistance available. We can also give you advice on what, how and when to notify Centrelink of changes in your income and living arrangements.

There is information available about particular topics such as

  • Youth Allowance
  • Austudy
  • Centrelink Workload requirements
  • Education Entry payments

Concessions

Being a student has all sorts of benefits including concessions for health, transport and entertainment. Student Support can help you ensure you’re getting the best value for money from your student card. We can also advise on concessions for low-income earners.

Financial Counselling and Budgeting

Most of us can do with a bit of financial guidance from time to time. Student Assist has a qualified Financial Counsellor to help you:

  • cut costs
  • manage debts
  • budgeting
